WHY, WHAT, HOW?
SUSTAINABLE ENERGY
Sustainable energy is the provision of energy such that it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
Humanity requires energy for the following:
Personal welfare
Production of goods
Transport products and personal mobility
The problem is not only how to generate energy, more fundamental is how we meet our energetic needs. There are many ways to reduce energy consumption without sacrificing the good quality of life. Renewable energy and energy efficiency are linked together.
The Sustainable Future of Mexico
The population in Mexico is not well aware of the wide availability of renewable resources available, mainly because the two main conventional energy sources, oil and natural gas, are abundant. But recent studies show that oil reserves will last less then 20 years. The government has realized this problem and is beginning to take action. However, only a few people are willing to take responsibility.
The time to act is NOW.
Developing renewable energy projects in strategic sectors of the country will lead to an increased awareness and a better attitude of the people towards nature, laying down the foundations for a sustainable lifestyle in our culture.
QUOTES
"We can be pretty certain what unsustainable electricity looks like:
it looks like most of the world's present-day electricity systems."
-Walt Patterson, Royal Institute of International Affairs, UK20
"The existing global energy systems are among the key causes of the misalignment of
the socio-political structures between North and South."

CLIMATE CHANGE
Carbon dioxide (CO2), which is emitted during the combustion of fossil fuels, is, as we all know, a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. From the past 150 years, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere has gone from 250 to 370 ppmv, and this has resulted in a rising of temperature on earth's surface to approximately 0.6 °C.
Climate change caused by the burning of fossil fuels, the massive exploitation of forests and industrialized agriculture is now a fact that can not be refuted. To avoid a temperature rise that does not exceed a reasonable limit of catastrophic consequences, it is imperative to reduce CO2 emissions in the atmosphere for more than half of current emissions for the year 2100. We must clearly take into account that the population is growing at a fast rate and therefore the consumption is also increasing.
Climate protection is thus one of the main reasons for introducing renewable energy systems
ECOTOURISM
Ecotourism has been a term used with a wide range of objectives, from the purest to the most unacceptable and materialistic. However, through proper planning and operation, ecotourism can become a powerful tool for achieving sustainable development.
In general, ecotourism is often referred to as responsible tourism, sustainable, low impact or green, and the tourism sector is associated with nature tourism, adventure and wildlife. In short, ecotourism is basically making use of tourism to ensure environmental sustainability and socio-cultural and economic development
RENEWABLE ENERGY FOR HOTELS
Within the tourism sector there is a great potential to implement technologies for generating clean energy, because energy consumption is high and therefore an investment of this type is highly profitable, in addition to a competitive advantage that improves image quality and market share from your hotel.
There are two basic options that can easily be implemented and represent a major opportunity for energy savings:
1) Energy savings through improved systems of heating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in power management, in insulation and lighting.
2) Solar water heaters, which use the sun's energy to heat water directly, requiring no gas or electricity.
